The common oil found in every store might hold less hair, according to a doctor who says adding it to your routine could help thicken your strands.
A common household oil could help fight hair loss naturally, according to a doctor.
Although hair loss can be a concern for some and even a source of anxiety and depression, one obstetrician and gynecologist has claimed that coconut oil can help thicken and slow hair loss. Dr Jennifer Ashton said the oil could be one of many useful common products.
She said: “There is very limited data that shows dramatic improvement in hair growth or thickening with coconut oil. But you always have to tell yourself: risk versus benefit. This is an incredibly low risk. There may be no profit. there, but it certainly won’t do any harm.”

She also added that peppermint oil has been shown to stimulate hair growth in animal studies by increasing blood flow to the scalp. Ashton added: “Peppermint oil vasodilates. [That] means it takes the blood vessels and enlarges them. When you enlarge a tube and you’re talking about a blood vessel, it increases blood flow. Menthol, eucalyptus, peppermint can absolutely do this,” reports Good Morning America.

When this hair begins to disappear, many will do everything in their power to keep the hairline firmly in place by taking supplements, getting transplants, or disguising it when it recedes. Dubbed “hairxiety,” a new study reveals that nine out of 10 young adults worry about their hair becoming thinner, receding, or disappearing altogether.
Harley Street Hair Clinic, a leader in the hair transplant industry, has discovered that Generation Z is already stressed. to lose their hair since 88% of 18 to 24 year olds say they fear losing their locks.
This compares to 74% of the population who have healthy hair, meaning that younger adults are also the most likely to think about the possibility of hair loss. Hair loss can begin in men at any age, but it usually occurs around puberty, and many start to see their hairline receding from their early 20s – late 30s, this tends to be more visible.
Baldness is slightly more extreme than just a receding hairline, as the hair on the head thins and bald patches appear, often around the crown of the head. There is a genetic factor to this and baldness can affect either gender – although it is more common in men.
Hair loss with age is common, with three quarters of men and almost two thirds of women experiencing some form of it, including two thirds of 18-24 year olds. Environmental factors can also cause hair loss, including increased stress which can also turn your strands gray and cause them to fade.
It’s a self-fulfilling cycle, with a third of 18-24 year olds reporting experiencing increased stress levels directly due to hair loss. A quarter also said their overall confidence had been shaken by their appearance, particularly because of their hair.
Worryingly, a tenth added that their hair loss issues had impacted their mental health beyond insecurity and led to depressive episodes and thoughts.
