I have thick thighs and cellulite… trolls tell me to exercise, but I’m confident

A BODY positivity content creator has responded to cruel trolls who insist she should exercise instead of going out on dates.

For years, Brinta Ponnuthurai, better known to her 135,000 Instagram fans as Brynta Ponn, struggled with her confidence and self-esteem — she bought her first stretch mark-eliminating cream at age 15.

“I had horrible acne when I was a teenager, so the texture of my skin was often made fun of, even though it was a normal thing for a teenager to go through,” she added in an interview with Stylist.

But that’s not all — growing up as a South Asian girl, Brinta, from Toronto, also faced a lot of judgment from strangers because of her skin.

And for years she experienced deep hatred and resentment toward her appearance.

“In my culture, justice is seen as beautiful and if you weren’t, then you were a problem that needed to be solved,” said Brinta, who has also been viciously harassed online by people telling her to go to the gym and tone her body. .

However, after years of spending on lightening creams and soaps to achieve a lighter complexion, the young woman realized that enough was enough.

Towards the end of her university studies, the body confidence influencer was so busy that she barely had time to wear makeup every day or worry about what she was wearing.

”I would go out into the world without makeup, with clothes that didn’t hide my dark skin or my stretch marks and well, I didn’t die.”

She added: “The texture is normal, the stretch marks tell our stories and the dark is beautiful too.”

The work, although hard, was worth it, and for the first time, Brinta was able to embrace the sun and her skin in a swimsuit earlier this year after heading off on her honeymoon.

Now the stunner, who also regularly shares fashion-related content online, is using her platform to help others unlearn beauty standards that have been instilled in society “for centuries.”

Unfortunately, having a larger social media following and being on a public platform also brings trolling – and Brinta is no stranger to “nasty comments” about her skin and body.

But Brinta chooses to ignore the negative comments and doesn’t respond to the haters — and she also remembers that those people are probably unhappy with themselves.

“Sending you all this level of peace that I finally feel in this body. You deserve this feeling too,” the plus size style lover recently told fans on her page.

”Thick thighs with cellulite and all, we were exposing ourselves, friends! I felt sooo confident in this skirt, damn [sic].”

Sharing her tips for those struggling with confidence, Brinta reminded that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that you should value and honor your skin no matter what.

Instead of waiting for the world’s approval, her message was simple: give yourself permission to show up as you are.
